A HERITAGE OF PRECISION
In 1954, the first Monark ergometer with the pendulum weight system was produced. Since then, the same fundamental idea has remained: the measurement should be possible to understand, check and trust.
On many of our ergometers, workload can be checked and calibrated against a known physical reference. This gives the user insight into the measurement and creates the conditions for precise, comparable and reproducible results.
Measurement reliability is therefore not something new to Monark Exercise. It is part of our heritage and continues to shape how we work today.

Monark Exercise has more than 70 years of experience in ergometers, with roots in Swedish bicycle manufacturing and physiological research.
From the first Monark ergometers in the 1950s to today’s operations in Vansbro, generations of experience have shaped who we are today.
